"Parking charges at Musgrove Park Hospital"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

(as a relative),

My Mother was in Triscombe Ward for 3-4 weeks before being transferred to Bridgwater hospital. To park at Musgrove in the multi storey for one day costs £10. 70! My family and I had to spend a fortune as we visited daily for the whole period.

Dear SomersetRelative18,

I am sorry to read of the cost of the car parking for you and your family while visiting your mother on Triscombe Ward. Over a number of years, the Trust has had issues with the lack of parking on site and therefore a partnership with an agreed contractor took place to build the Multi-storey.

This has managed to meet many of our challenges but the financial commitment to the car park means that our staff and public must pay for parking. There is an option of a weekly permit which can be obtained for patients who have prolonged admissions- I am sorry this information was not shared with you. The ward staff in future will be able to assist you with this.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused during your visits to your mother.
