I recently moved house, further complicated by the fact that I was moving between health boards. For the first time in my life, in my forties, I found myself in the position of changing GP.
I registered with Balfron Medical Practice, and, a week after registration, attended my first appointment with my new GP. I have a number of ongoing health conditions, and need referrals to a number of services within the new board.
My new GP was patient, courteous, professional, polite, understanding, and welcoming. I received the medication I required, and my referrals were arranged, and I was scheduled for a blood test to monitor my conditions on an ongoing basis. The service I received was the very essence of person-centred care. It's a rare thing for me not to dread visiting my GP, but I feel that with this new surgery and GP, my fears will be allayed.
