About: Tynemouth Medical Practice

Today I rang the clinic to book an appointment at 8am, and was then told that I was number 12 in the queue!

After much waiting, I finally spoke to someone who was human, who informed that the surgery was trying a new initiative where I could only book an appointment and be seen in 2 weeks time!

I did not have the heart to argue with the member of staff. I suppose I was lucky to even get an appointment!

This surgery has tried my last nerve, so I will be registering with a new surgery after 20+ years of being registered to Tynemouth Medical Health Practice.

I am sorry, but enough is enough. I should not have had to wait that long only to hear that the earliest appointment I can get is for 2 weeks later, especially when I rang up the surgery at 8am!

Thank you for taking the time to make a comment about our practice on NHS choices .

We have initiated a new system for booking appointments but its not as you describe. Pre-bookable appointments are available freely for two weeks ahead both online and by telephone. We are now triaging same day appointment requests on Monday , Fridays and mid week when clinical capacity in order to ensure that we see all those patients with a clinical need not just who got though on the phone first .we are sorry that the new system was not explained to you correctly when you contacted us.
