I am male, aged 68 and had a double bypass of coronary heart arteries in the late June of 2011.
This note is in appreciation of the cardiac rehab exercise programme organised by the Rotherham NHS.
I've completed the eighth session today. I felt welcome in the group and completely surprised by the physio. The monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate ensured exercise with safety. Since 2000 I was an amateur tri-athlete. I enjoyed swimming, cycling and running. Only once, when the GB age group were abroad, did I gain forth place in a national championship, so I am no star and never will be.
But my instinct was to work myself hard in training and this is an unwise inclination post heart op.
The excellent Rotherham physio team have helped me to enjoy exercise, get my pace right and stay safe. I am really grateful. Thank you.
"They helped me enjoy exercise again"
