"Wrong x-ray taken at Leicester Royal Infirmary"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / Nephrology

(as the patient),

Subsequent to my recent visit to Leicester Royal Infirmary (which I have already documented here) I attended my GP practice to get the results of an X ray I had taken at LRI.

Having had a radical nephrectomy in 2007 in respect of kidney cancer in 2007 a lump adjacent to that spot is something requiring investigation and is covered by NICE guidelines.

Previous X rays have been taken of the wrong part of my anatomy and again they have repeated the same error to my complete amazement, in spite of me pointing to the exact spot and agreeing with the radiographer that a 'renal view' was required. To learn that I have again had a scan of my chest defies belief.

This has been going on for most of this year whereas NICE guidelines set a limit of two weeks.
