"Poking at my abdomen"

About: Charing Cross Hospital / Accident and emergency

I have been to this hospital three times in three months because of recurring pain, the last time reluctantly since the first two I was there for half a day only to be sent home with painkillers which caused even more pain in the form of gastritis.

I was sent by my GP, expecting to get surgery for two excruciating, cripplingly painful hernia, and it was just the same story: lots of abdominal poking and a blood test. No scan, no further investigation, they gave me the same painkillers although I told them they did not help and even made it worse.

I was taken to the beds area, I had to jump over dead cockroaches on the floor, then I was glad I was not getting surgery there.

They sent me home with the promise of a referral letter to get surgery, almost two weeks now and no sign of a letter, their PALS service never picks up the phone.
