"Baby café"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Breastfeeding Support Pinderfields General Hospital / Maternity care

(as a parent/guardian),

When I was in hospital I noticed my baby wasn't latching properly. They didn't seem interested but that's another case, had a very bad experience for my birth at Pinderfields.

Well back home my midwife at 5 days old weight loss 10. 4% she noticed the tongue tie on the Tuesday told me to go to breastfeeding cafe which I did on the Thursday.

They spent over 2 hours with me learning best latch, how to express milk to give. Due to weight loss (my baby had 75% which is severe) they phoned hospital while I was there. I phoned hospital Monday morning as advised, I was put on end of clinic now my baby is gaining weight amazingly. I really appreciate all they did for me at Birstall café. Staff are amazing and thanks to my midwife Racheal it was seen so quick - Thank you again, still on our breastfeeding journey 4 months in.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments and congratulations on the birth of your baby.

I hope you are both doing well.

I will pass on your lovely comments to the team as I can only imagine how anxious you must have been feeling knowing that your baby was not latching properly.

I am pleased to read how the team provided you with the support you needed.

Thank you again and I wish you both well for the future.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
