"Rubbish !! would not recommend"

About: Lister Hospital

What I liked

My 18 year old daughter is pregnant and hasnt had a good start on the 6th December 2011 she was taken into Lister hospital for an emergancy scan even though she had been bleeding the whole weekend, unfortunately when we went it for the scan she bled out badly and was told she probably lost the baby but i asked them to scan to make sure, on doing the scan they found that she was still pregnant and that she had a condition called bicornuate. We was then told she had lost a baby in the other chamber which is now full of blood and this is why she is bleeding, we was then sent to speak to a consultant who told us that she would be put on the risk list and if she started bleeding again to bring her back and she would be seen and scaned straight away. This turned out to be rubbish !! 4 days later she started bleeding really heavy and we call an ambulance and she was taken to lister and left in A&E .2 hours later she was taken to 11b and sat in the waiting room with her partner and mum, she was in lots of pain and using the toilet alot, not once was she checked. 3 and half hours later a doctor came over and the her beeper went off she the turned to my daughter and said i cant deal with you someone with a real emergancy has come in.They addmitted her and i went to see her first thing the following morning i went to see what was going on. when i arrived i was told i couldnt see her as it wasnt visiting times, i understand about that but she was upset and still not seen a doctor. i spoke to a nurse and she said they were waiting for the doctor. Half an hour later 4 doctors came to see her and while they were talking they had their backs to me (Rude) they said she was to go for a scan asap. Great at last, while waiting for them to take her for a scan a nursed walked past then came back poked her head round the door and said "can you get off the bed your contaminating it " well i was dumb struck how rude.

What could be improved

An hour past and one other other doctors came in and said she didnt need a scan as the amount of blood she had lost suggested she had lost her other baby, not forgetting she had already lost baby one earlier that week. my daughter was so upset and i was cross, but the final straw was when we over heard the nuses talking they said "we she is a silly girl for being pregnant at 18" even if she is its non of their business. My daughter and i left the Lister hospital.still worried i took her to Harlow hospital where they did scan her and im pleased to say she is still pregnant and her bleeding is down to her hormone levels and we found all that out within an hour of arriving at Harlow, which is where she intends to have her baby, she will still have problems because of her condition but they are keeping an eye and they staff are so nice they also have an under 20s pregnancy team.

I am not returning to lister and i know nothing will ever change and i know this because 18 years ago i was treated the same way !!!
