What I liked
The nursing Staff on the ward (Level 8a West) on the whole delivered a very high standard of care and offen went out of their way to ensure the comfort of all the patience despite being challenged with a high work load. I couldn't of asked for better care.
What could be improved
The communication between the consultants and both the nurse's and myself seemed to be very poor. As the nurse's were not alway aware of changes the consultant made in my care plan. I also feel that my consultant did not listen to me as much as they could of. When I voiced concerns about my treatment, I was dismissed very quickly and was made to feel like I shouldn't be questioning them.
Anything else?
On the whole I was pleased with the standard of care that I received. This includes all staff on the ward from the nursing team, health care assistants, catering staff, cleaning staff , physio and OT.
I came onto the ward via A&E, which I have to say that the staff there were first class.
And a big thank you to the porters. These people play a huge part. I think they are probably over looked at times. But they always made me smile. And alway took great care of me when in their charge.
"A reassuring and comforting experience."
