What I liked
The midwives.
What could be improved
Reading that the hospital has been granted a lot of money for improvements it would be nice if some of this money is put into decent seating in the Bancroft Suite.
The seats in the Bancroft Suite are quite old, very low down, very few have armrests and one can feel the wooden frame through the old padding.
As a pregnant woman it is hard enough to get out of a low down chair. It appears that no thought has been put into what kind of seating would assist a heavily pregnant woman who needs extra momentum to get ouf of a low down chair.
Seats that are wide, well padded, at a decent height and have arm rests for extra leverage would be beneficial. Also, as the women in this suite usually have to wait for quite a long time, the upholstery should not be overly plastic.
As I have only two months until I give birth, I doubt that I will see any improvement in this suite but it would be nice if someone reviewed the seating.
"Pleasant but funding needs to be spent in waiting..."
