"Musgrove park hospital"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency Musgrove Park Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a relative),

My husband was brought in by ambulance to a and e with pain in his left lung, a and e were very quick to see him even though were rushed of their feet and lots of beds in the corridor , they diagnosed him with pneumonia and started iv antibiotics straight away.

He was then transferred to amu and received great care, he then got moved to Portman ward. Portman staff were expectional especially Ronaldo and Kathryn, they showed so much care, had a laugh and joke and were friendly.

Then he got moved to Coleridge ward, the respiratory doctors were amazing diagnosed fluid on the lung and put a drain in very quickly.

There was lack of communication with regards to discharge, but all in all the care given to him whilst in musgrove were amazing. It makes you appreciate the hard work all staff do throughout the hospital and how lucky we are to have the nhs.

Dear Pat1, thank you so much for taking the time to post the experience you and your husband had of our services. It sounds like you both experienced care in lots of areas and I am so pleased to hear that on the whole it was a positive experience.

I will pass on to the teams and individuals you mention and will post any responses I receive.

In regards to the discharge if there is anything we could have specifically done to have made it better, it would be great to hear. We are always seeking to make improvements and feedback really helps us on that journey. You can email directly or post on Care Opinion.

with best wishes to you and your husband

Karen

Dear Pat 1, As the lead nurse for A&E I would like to thank you for taking the time to write to us. I am really pleased that although we were extremely busy we were still able to care for your husband and respond to his needs quickly. It must have been very worrying for you and I hope he is now on the road to recovery.
