After attending a pre op to have a large cyst taken of my neck. I was given a estimate of 4 weeks and had to wait to the very last day to have the op. I arrived at the hospital and was informed by a very helpful receptionist my paperwork was incorrect on my birthdate, this was rectified and the new date inserted to make my hospital tags up to date. I was told were to go and was greeted by a very helpful Nurse. I was taken to a room and asked to take my cloths off. I said would it be ok just to take my top off and was informed that I had to take off all my clothes off which quite amazed by this as it was only a minor op on my neck. I was given a gown which only had 1 strap and did little to protect my modesty and waited to be told that it would be another 45mins before I could be seen. This was confirmed later by the surgeon and turned out to be a 1hour- 45 wait before walking to operating room. During this time I was offered a sandwich afterwards which was most welcome afterwards. Whilst waiting in the bedroom I was visited by numerous people asking me to confirm who I was, and my date of birth. I could understand this need but was over visited 18 times yes that's right 18 times and my wristband changed twice as well. This I found quite unsettling. I was taken to the operating room and one of the operating staff fixed my gown with some tape and also was allowed to put on my under wear . The operation took bout 30 mins and was as I could feel carried out very professionally by the surgeon and his staff. I was taken back to my room by a very kind staff member in a wheel chair. Then what I consider a bit of a bombshell I was told that I could not drive home. This caused some problems as I was never aware of this and had to get 2 drivers to help me and had no idea when I could go. I had my sandwich which was very tasty and filling. After leaving my home at 5 15 pm. I eventually got home at 9 30pm. Overall I feel that whilst the staff were very professional things could have been done a lot better.
