What I liked
I was admitted as an emergency and progressed from the Forest assessment Centre, through to MAU and then on to Longbeech Ward. The care I received from everyone - nursing, medical, ward clerk, domestic, portering and x-ray staff was absolutely superb - and delivered with endless kindness, skill, patience, compassion and, where appropriate, humour. The staff worked well together and were friendly, cheerful and positive and there was none of the whingeing about the Trust, management, colleagues etc. or talking over the patient that is unfortunately present in a lot of other hospitals. Although I was relatively independent, I was still offered help with selecting my menu and anything else that I might have neeed, the food was very good and all the areas I saw were spotlessly clean. I was rather tearful at times during my stay, due to frustrations about my condition, and the nursing and medical staff were an absolute credit to their professions in dealing with me, holding my hand whilst I sobbed over them, listening to my concerns and talking to me about them, offering hugs when needed, and extra cups of tea - even in the middle of the night. Without exception, they were all brilliant. Thank you all so much.
What could be improved
Nothing at all.
"Absolutely excellent care"
