My Mother of 102 years spent the last three years of her life at Red Rocks Nursing Home (RRNH). Prior to RRNH she lived alone but was well looked after by relatives and neighbours and she was a very independent lady. The staff at RRNH were excellent at adapting her care to her needs and she quickly considered RRNH to be her home.
As a retired doctor I was extremely impressed by the team spirit and cheerful and friendly attitude of all the staff. I am sure this is due to the example set by Mr Vaughan and the way in which he leads his team. There is regularly something, if they so wish, to entertain the individual resident and keep the mind alert and the residents are treated as individuals. The medical care was of a very high standard and there are regular visits by local GPs. The nurses would always report to the relatives in a speedy and accurate way any significant comments made by the GPs. The cleanliness and hygiene of the establishment are of a very high standard. As a doctor I have visited a number of nursing homes in the region where I live, I. e. Gloucestershire, and I feel that very few, if any, of these nursing homes meet the high standards set by RRNH and I would not have wished my Mother to be anywhere else other than RRNH. The family atmosphere at RRNH and the genuine affection shown by staff to the residents is very reassuring to visiting relatives and friends.
