About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

What I liked

Macclesfield general is a good example of how a hospital should be run. The nursing staff employed there are in the job because they enjoy looking after people and it really shows. There is a feeling of conscientiousness and care in the whole place. This goes from the top, i.e. consultant surgeon, right down to the lady who brings the tea around the ward.

What a shame there are so few hospitals and health care professionals like Macclesfield general.

What could be improved

Food - should be clearer options for low saturated fat diets, particularly for those on the gastro wards.

This being said at least there is a commitment to sustainability in the fact that not everything comes in plastic and is thrown away, and the majority of catering services appear to be internal and on site.

Many thanks for your positive comments about your care and treatment and also your feedback on the food. Patient’s feedback is essential to the Trust in order for us to improve our services for all our users.

It is always encouraging for staff to have positive feedback and is a boost to morale.
