"Lack of empathy and care"

About: The Surgery at Wheatbridge

What ever happened to caring doctors who have empathy. Saw a GP early this morning before rushing off to work since no other suitable times for working people. I hardly ever go to the doctors but I had a lymph node swelling in a sensitive area that could be worrying. I was aware that it was likely to be due to an infection following my Achilles tendon rupture so I didn't want to ignore it. The GP was cold, informal, robotic and made me feel like I was wasting their time. The GP showed no empathy and made an immediate diagnosis that if its only been there for a week it will go away and to come back if it didn't. The consultation was over within a few minutes, my preparations to get checked out disregarded effortlessly. It is difficult to see how a quick superficial feel of the swelling could indicate much about the actual size and nature of the lump. There was no history taken, one or two quick questions and no explanation about possible causes. I had to tell the GP about the tendon rupture to make myself feel better to justify having take up the GPs time. In complete contrast the nurse that took the bloods I requested couldn't have been more caring.
