My elderly father who is now terminally ill again spent a short while on this ward before moving to a nursing home. The staff led by an amazing ward sister are brilliant. Everyone is welcoming and caring from the cleaners and tea makers through to the nurses and doctors. We count ourselves very lucky to have had such an expert and compassionate team behind us.who always seem to be able to make time to support patients and carers. Communication between staff and with patients and carers is better than most departments I have had experience of.
I don't know how they do it but some of the other elderly wards would do well to learn from their example.
Thank you so much to the ward sister and team.
