What I liked
Clean ward (C1)
Staff generally visible
Physio team very assiduous and communicated well with next of kin, although doctors did not communicate well with them
3 really good student nurses
What could be improved
My father was in a huge amount of pain; despite repeated requests, this was not relieved.
The pain management team did not appear despite being requested by the consultant and his team.
Ward C1 was understaffed, especially at weekends
Consultant was distant at meeting on pain relief
Some staff did not treat patients as individuals
Call button was not always left on my father's bed, despite his being in pain and immobile.
No TVs
No personal radio reception, nor mobile phone reception.
"My father was racked with pain, without..."
