"very grateful"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres University Hospital Monklands / Clinical Haematology (Ward 16)

(as the patient),

I have been using the services at both Hairmyres and Monklands hospital.  2 years ago following a holiday abroad I went to the doctors as I had been bitten on the hand while away.  The doctor gave me cream but it didn't make any difference so I was referred to a consultant in Hairmyres. The consultant was great and discovered a mosquito had laid eggs and I ended up with encephalitis.  I was supported throughout my treatment by various departments specifically ward 16 and Psychology - all of the treatment was first class.  During that time it was discovered that I had a polyp which was then found to be cancerous and I had to have further treatment in ward 18 and blood tests etc at Monklands. It has been such a stressful time but everyone has been so supportive to help us through it all.

I just want to say a huge thank you to the NHS - my treatment has been excellent.  When I get the all clear I will volunteer to give something back.
