"Not a pleasant experience"

About: Droitwich Spa Hospital

After being referred by my GP to this hospital I was informed very curtly by the consultant that the procedure I was referred for was not available under the NHS.

The consultant had not read the referral letter before my arrival and said that the GP surgery should not have referred me.

As an ex NHS manager could I politely suggest that better communication with GPs would prevent such a waste of time for everybody.

Not only did I take a day off work I had a 2 hour round trip for an appointment that was essentially useless.

I was made to feel as if I was at fault and the consultant was rough in his examination and bordering on rude in his demeanour.

Not a pleasant experience.
