"Outpatient Truclear Polypectomy"

About: John Coupland Hospital / General medicine Lincoln County Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I recently attended an appointment for the above procedure. I had already attended twice for outpatient appointments at the same clinic - Branston Ward at Lincoln County Hospital. My doctor had referred me due to lower abdominal pains and slight bleeding after the menopause. All the staff have been very courteous, friendly, kind and understanding during all my appointments. I have been made to feel as comfortable and pain-free as possible and have been very grateful to all concerned. The latest procedure was more painful though than I imagined it would be especially when the doctor tried to remove the fibroid. The doctor did stop the procedure as soon as he realised how much pain it was causing me.   A leaflet I had been given stated that I would be gas and air but this did not happen. I would like to give a big Thank You to all the staff who attended at the clinics.

Dear Gainschris

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your feedback on the care you have received at Lincoln Gynaecology Outpatients Department.

As a Trust it is our aim to ensure our patients are treated in a professional manner, with courtesy, understanding and compassion. It is extremely pleasing when those patients use their valuable time to let us know when we are getting it right.

Feedback such as yours act as a great morale booster for the team, and I will be sure to share your positive comments with them. I am sorry you expected to be given gas and air and this did not happen, this is indeed available for use in this clinic and offered on an individual basis. We always endeavour to learn from any feedback given to us as we will in this case, but if you wish to discuss this with me individually please do not hesitate to contact me on 07826 532833.

Thank you once again for your comments, which I will ensure are shared with the Gynaecology Outpatients Team.

Best wishes,

Debbie Richards

Trust Wide Gynaecology Outpatients Sister
