What I liked
Since my daughter's birth mid July, I have had to return to the hospital numerous occasions. During my labour, my husband and I were extremely well looked after by the amazing midwife who I cannot thank enough for her care. My caesarean went well, and the two anaesthetists were brilliant, really really caring. The surgeon did a marvellous job, and we now have a beautiful baby girl. The two ladies who cleaned me up after the operation where unbelievably caring. Thank you both!
The staff on Marsh ward were varied; none less than nice, but I did have my favourite midwives and staff in my short time there! The lovely midwife even went out of her way to come and visit us which was so appreciated!
Since my discharge, I have dealt with the Admissions Department via post and they were very quick and helpful.
I have attended the CDU and they all dealt with me in the quickest possible way, and we're so attentive and nice.
Next was Outpatients 1 where I have now been three times. Waiting times have varied from ontime to almost an hour late, but seeing how busy they are, I really didn't mind. Plus all of the staff where is kind and supportive, I have nothing but praise for them.
Next was the staff in the X-ray Dept, both of who where very lovely and gentle, even the time when one was digging a needle around in my breast!
Finally, (I hope!) the Children's Ward. We were seen ontime, and the staff and ward were the same standard as the rest of my experiences this year. I have been unfortunate in the amount of times I have had to visit the hospital this year, but I am lucky that it was the Royal Berkshire that I have had to attend each time. Thank you to each and everyone. Not least the catering staff, the food and service was brilliant :)
What could be improved
I had to write this as I wanted to thank the people who have been involved in my care these last four months. And what better way to do it than publicly, so everyone can read it? Most of the staff where in my life so briefly at a time when so much is so new, that remembering everyone's names is impossible. But you all left a mark, and I hope any member of staff reading this feels proud to work at the Royal Berks.
"Fantastic, thank you all so much!"
