"first point of contact."

About: Strathcarron Hospice / In-Patient Unit

(as a relative),

loved and still do love hospice. one thing that slightly got to me my dad was told to contact hospice and got a number. phoned and was told "oh I don't do Clackmannanshire anymore its not my area. ". wasn't until doctor asked how we got on as it was getting close shall we say that we had to contact again. no one had followed it through. not a criticism just could of upset people with less assistance or family members around. apart from that perfect.

Good afternoon

Thank you for posting your story on Care Opinion, we very much value hearing from people who have used any part of our care service.

Thank you for commenting positively on an overall experience – everything you have posted is welcomed feedback for our staff.

We are very keen to have Care Opinion stories help us with how we can improve upon aspects of our services. It is therefore very helpful for us to hear from your story, that a particular telephone conversation sounded to have had a discouraging effect on you and your family at the time.

We would very much like to explore this further with you if you would want to take that opportunity. In order for us to see if there is something we could do differently, we would really like to have more detail regarding your particular situation. Would you like to contact me directly at the Hospice? I have included my email address as well as our telephone number: lesley.whitelaw@nhs.net 01324 826222.

Thank you again for posting your story.

Lesley
