"Excellent Care"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

I visited the urgent care centre at Wansbeck General Hospital after my six year old daughter fell from a swing and broke her wrist. Due to the lack of child care in place for my two year old son as it was my day off work, he had to come along for the ride.

We were seen much more quickly than I had expected, the staff were all very friendly and professional, making my daughter and I feel very much a part of the clinical process. Everyone that we spoke to was keen to explain to her in simple terms what was going on, even showing her the X-ray images of the fracture.

Upon discharge she was given a teddy which is now called 'Pinky'. They must have seen the look on my son's face so let him choose one too. That, somewhat predictably, is now called 'Greeny' and absolutely made his day.

Thank you all for the world class service. It is testament to your pride and professionalism that you are able to achieve this in spite of Jeremy Hunt!

Best regards.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Your poor daughter, I hope she is managing well following her broken wrist.

It’s great to know that both your children enjoyed their teddies so much, little things really can make all the difference. Adore the names ‘Pinky’ and ‘Greeny’!

I will ensure the team in urgent care get the opportunity to read your review and know how much of a positive impression they made on your family.

Thank you for sharing your story with us and reminding the team how much their work is appreciated.

Best regards,

Jan
