"Prompt service saved the sight in my right eye!"

About: Fordingbridge Surgery

On Thursday morning 3 weeks ago I suddenly realised that I could see hundreds of "floaters" in my right eye. After lunch, I decided that I should get this checked & contacted the surgery same day service. I quickly received a call from 1 of the practice nurses who booked me in the see the doctor only an hour later.

He checked my eye & concerned that the damage could be serious he called SDH eye department just prior to their closing for the day. I was told to report immediately to A&E where a consultant would be waiting for me, as indeed he was.

After a thorough examination, I was requested to report to the Eye department first thing on Friday for an even more detailed examination & treatment. A hole was discovered in my retina which was repaired by laser surgery! As I was told on my post op. check up, the speedy action of the doctor could well have saved the sight in my right eye.

For this, I am eternally grateful. Thank you.
