"Spinal Fusion and Decompression Surgery"

After suffering for a year with unbearable back pain and after trying various treatments, none of which solved my pain, my GP referred me to see a consultant at the Orthopaedic and Spine Specialist Hospital in Peterborough. From the first consultation in January to my final one today, I have been treated with compassion and respect.

During my first consultation, the consultant explained in detail my condition and my options, it became very clear that the best option for a full recovery was to have Spinal Fusion and Decompression surgery. This option was very scary to me but he soon eased my concerns with his excellent calming and confident manner, he spent time explaining what would happen before, during and after surgery.

My operation was booked there and then for the 5th March 2018.

I arrived that day feeling anxious, this feeling didn’t last long once I met all the lovely staff, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming, it did feel a little like a hotel rather than a hospital. I met everyone who was involved in my care on the morning of my operation, they were all incredibly professional, compassionate and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The attention to detail was excellent, clean, pleasant and comfortable, nothing was rushed, everyone took time to explain things clearly, the consultant and his incredible team went above and beyond to make sure my time in hospital was as comfortable as possible.

The food although I didn’t eat very much was excellent. All freshly prepared daily and in my opinion definitely restaurant quality.

I would like to thank the consultant and his team for everything they have done for me during my time in hospital and my recuperation at home.

You are all amazing.

I have no hesitation in highly recommending this hospital.
