"The biggest thank you I can give"

About: St Mary's Hospital / Gynaecology

I chose St Mary's as my hospital when I had my first midwife appointment, it was honestly the best decision I've made.

After a previous miscarriage, I was so worried about more complications in this pregnancy and had good reason to be as I ended up miscarrting again. Last time was so traumatic but this time I felt a lot more comforted because of the amazing staff who work here, specifically the Emergancy Gyno Unit.

I was rushed into A&E because of very very heavy bleeding, they put me onto a drip and kept me there until I was a bit more stable and then took me over to the EGU. The nurses and scan staff were absolutely amazing and I can't thank them enough.

They invited me in weekly for scans to keep an eye on me and the progress of the baby but because of complications I was prepared for the chance of miscarriage again.

On the day of the miscarriage the nurses looked after me and were so understanding and I'm so so grateful. They're doing an amazing job.

Thank you for your positive comments posted on the NHS Choices website regarding your care on The Emergency Gynaecology Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital. It was very kind of you to take the time to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff.

It was reassuring to read that you found the staff understanding and caring at this most worrying time for you. The Trust has introduced a Behavioural framework within which all members of the nursing and medical teams work and the women and their families in our care are central to this ethos. I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to Mrs Louise Weaver-Lowe, Head of Nursing and Dr Sean Burns, Clinical Head of Division and the staff involved. May I take the opportunity to wish you well for the future.

Mrs Karen Connolly

Chief Executive Officer – Saint Mary’s Hospital
