We are devastated that the nursing staff of Ward 45 sent our 91 year old mother out yesterday with stage 2 bed sores, they couldn’t wait to get her out and told us that they were healing well they didn’t alert any specialist nurse or put on the discharge papers.
The story is much bigger than this with the treatment received and lack of interest of requests by our family not to force our mum to sit out on a plastic chair for hours on end when we were not there.
There are obviously wonderful nurses in the system but sadly we had some very poor nursing care.
We would like to thank Mr Evans and the surgical team in the early part of the treatment, but when transferred to ward 45 all the good turned into a nightmare experience.
This will be an ongoing incident report due to the neglect.
