What I liked
ive been under the rnoh for 17 years always had excellent care, the doctors are brilliant they really know their stuff.
my opinion has always mattered to them, they have kept me on my feet ,the changes i have seen have been tremendous at stanmore and bolsover st.
i have never before been concerned over the care ive been given .
so as to why im leaving a comment as im currently in stanmore for a hip replacement the doctors care as always excellent im currently on 3rd day of 5 and im worried about infection and cross contamination .
What could be improved
some of the nursing staff,!
my god ive seen somethings in life but they are dealing with peoples lives, but my second day in here has been hell, hygiene goes out the door with the doctors no hand washing with gel or gloves to put a blood tranfusion line, in lets pop over the ward to a infected wound help gentleman in to shirt back over to transfuion patient blood line fell on floor pick it up then connect it . still not washing hand / gel which is on every bed , i called the nurse asked for my tablets which was very late, she checked my chart huffed said she would go get them off she went my wife watched go to the office and sit down there she stayed for 45 mins, in this time my catheta bag had filledup (due to the wife pumping me full of liquid) the wife asked them to empty it , 20 mins later wife asked again over she came to bag the wife asked her to put gloves on or at least gel ,another huff, into a bedpan it went no cover down the ward sloshing to the sink in the ward emptied , she came back with bed pad which is a disposable one plonked it on my table in front of me back to the gentleman having a tranfusion without washing her hands. tablets arrived 2 hrs late the wife reading my notes then said the incorrect time had been put in ,
Anything else?
i felt worried after the wife left as my curtain was pulled around the bed and there i stayed no checks, uncomfortable in pain it was a very long night , the staff next shift totally different .
"brilliant doctors , worryingly scary nursing staff"
