"Midwives and Labour Ward"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital / Maternity

Our daughter was born at PRUH in June 2018. The care we've received at every stage, from antenatal, through birth and postnatal, has been outstanding.

Every midwife we have encountered has been superb. Caring, ready to listen, deeply knowledgeable and immediately responsive when we've had problems. Each of them seems be utterly unflappable and have the patience of a saint.

They really are a fantastic group of people and I can't thank them enough.

The hospital maternity facilities seem excellent to me. My only minor complaint was the temperature on the ward during one of the hottest days of the year - it became very oppressive and there seemed to be no way to cool the place down (though I understand that keeping the place warm for newborns is vital!).

Very glad to hear that your daughter had a good experience of our maternity services at the Princess Royal.

Yes, controlling the heating can be difficult and we'll note this with our estates team. Hope mum and baby are doing well.
