"The Fabulous NHS"

About: General practices in Fife Victoria Hospital / Palliative Care and Hospice Victoria Hospital / Respiratory Medicine

(as a service user),

Where do i start?

All we tend to hear about the NHS is negative and depressing, however,  in our family's experience, it has been exemplary!

Our father was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer. Ever since we started accessing the various services involved, each service has consistently blown us away with an excellent level of service and downright human love and compassion. Every staff member that has crossed our path has shown genuine love and care for our dad and family. They have consistently gone the extra mile for our Dad and us. Wonderful people and a fantastic system.

The services involved have been:

Kelty Medical Practice: all staff.

The District Nurses and management.

Dears Pharmacy in Kelty.

AU1, Victoria Hospital,  Kirkcaldy, Fife.

Palliative Care nurse Lynsey.

All staff in Ward 15, Victoria Hospital,  Kirkcaldy, Fife.

The Ward OT, Ward 15.

Discharge Unit. Hospital at Home. Social Work care package dept in Cowdenbeath, Ms. Yeoman.

Jane, Palliative Care in the community,  based in Kirkcaldy.

Apologies if I have left anyone out.

Thank you for taking time to submit this wonderful feedback - we are so glad that your experience was positive, especially when so many parts of the service needed to be involved in your care. I will make sure the staff concerned see your review. Best wishes.

Dear Mlezann19

Many thanks for taking the time to post your comments on Care Opinion, it is very much appreciated. To hear you express your positive experience as exemplary, makes me very proud that all the teams involved in your fathers care have been able to show how committed they are to giving a high standard of care.

It is the love and compassion that staff feel for individual patients and their families that motivates us within the health service.

We all having a common goal to give the best individual person centered care we can and it is lovely to hear when we manage to achieve it.

I will ensure the teams involved in your father's care see your appreciative positive feedback.

Best wishes to you and your family

Esther
