I take this opportunity to express my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful treatment and care you all showed me during my recent emergency stay at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. I was there in June during which time I was looked after by the ambulance, staff at A&E, minor injuries and the excellent team at Ward 10.
Once health has been restored, in whatever measure, many of us forget the expertise and long hours of medical staff all delivered under immense pressure. So this letter is to show our gratitude.
Admission into a hospital can be daunting and the fear of the unknown can at times be overwhelming but you were all so kind, efficient and reassuring that it immediately allayed my apprehension. During my 5 days there (mainly at Ward 10), the team led by Dr. Tina O’hara demonstrated total commitment. They helped me settle in, explain the issues at hand, understand the options and then deliver care and encouragement on my road to restoration. Of course the competency of my neurology consultant Dr. Viquar Chamoun is always something I have relied on
There were other members of staff, too numerous to mention, who we would like to say thanks to. It has been a difficult time for our family but your dedication and skills helped lighten the load for us. To all of you we want to say how very much this means to us as a family.
