(as a service user),

I feel although there are good points and people here that do care, some culture needs to change. I think that some staff believe we are here to be punished for having mental health problems. I'm not even on a prison sentence. I just want help for my condition. I don't want to be punished for it.

I find Rampton too restrictive and punitive at times. I feel it could be more relaxed because this is supposed to be a hospital at the end of the day.

A lot of the time it feels like a prison.

I'm sorry that it feels that way to you. As you say, staff do care but I understand your point that we need to get this across consistently. It's good to get this feedback - it fits in with something we were discussing only this morning.

I'm sure you're already doing this but it would be really helpful if you could help us by communicating these concerns on the ward with staff that you like to work with.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback and I am sorry to hear that you feel that Rampton is too restrictive and punitive at times. I would like to meet with you to discuss your concerns. Please could you identify yourself to your ward manager and I can arrange to meet with you and explore this further.
