"A good hospital and staff being hampered by its..."

About: Burnley General Hospital

What I liked

As always staff, service and attention to my 92 years old mother in law was kind and courteous

What could be improved

having blood taken, a distressed 92 years old patient had to wait an extra hour and a half whilst the blood was sent by taxi to Blackburn for testing. What a waste of NHS money and resources.

A couple of days later I spent a couple of hours in the waiting area between wards 15 & 16.In plain view were 5 hand cleansing units and several clear notices as to their purpose and use.To pass the time I counted some 65 persons (mainly staff) entering these wards. Only 6 of these used the cleansing units and five of these were visitors ! Familiarity not only breeds contempt but MRSE.
