"I want to continue feeling better"

About: Centre for Integrative Care (formerly Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital)

(as a service user),

I attended the three day week of mindfulness and activities at the CIC in February of this year. The group was a supportive one and we all got on well. I felt that the time together was good and that we benefitted greatly.

Having practiced my heartmath breathing faithfully every day, I managed to book & fly on my own.   As I hate flying, this was some achievement for me.   Whilst there … I never once used my walking stick, all my friends commented it must be some kind of miracle, as the last time they saw me I could barely walk … I want to continue feeling better … even though I am labelled chronically ill, it doesn’t mean my life is over.   This I learned from the group and want to learn more.

I am truly unable to put into words what this course has done for my own well being and those who were in my group.   I am now free of all opioids' prescribed due to the inspiration I took from the team and just one of the other patients.   I feel that the NHS has given up on myself and many other chronic patients throughout Scotland, is truly upsetting.   However, the reception and treatment I had the privilege to experience mid February has given me the strength to fight for something very worth fighting for.

Dear delphinusne47

Thank you very much for your post on Care Opinion.

I am delighted to hear about the positive impact that the course at the Centre for Integrative Care has had on you. It is also lovely to read about the support you received from the group. Congratulations on being able to fly on your own and I hope you enjoyed your holiday.

I will share your post with the staff at the Centre for Integrative Care. It is clear how much the experience has helped you and I am sure they will appreciate you taking the time to share your story.

Take Care

Nicole
