On the 20th Feb 18, I had "Hip Revision Surgery".
The op appears to be a success, until
discharge day, (Friday 23rd Feb), when it was discovered that the hip had dislocated.
I remained in hospital for a few days whilst it was relocated & finally discharged on the 26th Feb.
During the next 3/4 weeks whilst recovering at home, the hip dislocated twice more & relocated each time in Southmead A&E.
The surgeon decided that further surgery was needed& operated on the 5th June 18.
I am now in the 2nd week of recovery & all seems well.I have every praise for the surgeon, his team, the ward staff & supporting agencies. In addition I would also like to express my admiration for the staff who run the discharge lounge,
who displayed a high level of professionalism in dealing with very busy people traffic & clear inadequacies elsewhere in the system.
Southmead Hospital is a superb facility, coupled with its hard working diligent staff, factors that have made my association a memorable one.
I look forward to returning for further surgery to my other hip, planned for October 18.
Thankyou.
