What I liked
on behalf of my mother - nothing!
What could be improved
everything!
Anything else?
My main issue with the Great Western Hospital is the unnacceptable time it is taking to admit my mum for her gallbladder operation. When she fell ill in May 2011, she was told that she was put on the emergency list to have her gallbladder removed as she had gallstones that were causing her to have pancreatitis, which, as we all know, it potentially life threatening. Your idea of an emergency list is a joke! Its now been 5 months and 2 cancelled operations later and she still has not had her gallbladder removed. This doesnt even hit your normal waiting list time of 18 weeks!
On 2 occasions in the last 2 weeks she has been given an appointment, Both were cancelled right at the last minute. Do you know the mental impact this has on somebody? not to mention the arrangements that have to be made for her to be able to go in? so its not just her that is being messed about!
Also, due to the awful diet she is on so that her gallstones dont flare up, her immune system is very low and she has suffered from shingles and boils in her eyes in recent months, when usually she is relatively healthy.
I am very angry with the Great Western Hospital. You should not be allowed to treat people like this.
And im not even going to start o0n how she was treated when she was admitted in May........
