"Thank you NHS"

I had an extraction carried out at my local dentist on a Friday, which left me with a large amount of bleeding. I was told that the surgery shut at 5pm, and that Saturday appointments were for private patients only, so would have to wait until the following week to be seen again, which I thought was outrageous. It was still bleeding at 3am, and left me in a lot of pain.

I phoned NHS Direct, who were absolutely super even though they were chock-a-block. They got me an appointment on Sunday at the emergency dentist in Wakefield. I was treated by James Notts, who was wonderful. He really put me at ease, and I was very pleased with the treatment.

I think the system at my dentist is awful and should be changed - it just makes more work for the out-of-hours dentist and I believe it is very unfair. I cannot thank the NHS enough for helping me out when I needed it.
