What I liked
I recently visited the hospital suffering from stomach pain. The Registrar very easily diagnosed peritonitis and said she would operate that day. I was seen several times by the Doctor who was most thorough and curteous.
It turned out that I had a ruptured and gangrenous appendix and this was removed using Laproscopy. I left hospital after little more than 48 hours and am recuperating well at home.
All the staff were friendly , curteous and professional. I would like to thank the staff nurse in particular.
Astonishingly the food was actually quite good.
What could be improved
A busy hospital is always quite noisy at night making it difficult to get an uninterrupted sleep, not much can be done about this I fear.
Anything else?
My experience was of the improvements in medicine that have taken place in recent years. The ability to remove a burst appendix and have the patient walk out in two days is remarkable and short stays really will help to keep costs down.
"A modern hospital working well."
