I lost my flimsy hearing aid at work. it fell off and the open fit ear piece remained in my ear. The trust has instructed staff not to accept cash or cheques for a replacement hearing aid during appointments only cards are acceptable and payment is up front!! patients are not trusted!!!
On 9/4/18 at Banbury Orchard Health Centre I was refused a replacement as I only had cash to pay!!.
So today(4/6/18) at the hearing aid clinic West Wing John Radcliffe hospital, again cash was not acceptable. But I was given an invoice and I had to leave appointment, then leave the west wing, walk along the road to the main hospital entrance, go up to the third floor cashiers pay £110.00 cash at the counter, get a receipt and walk back to the hearing aid clinic where I was finally given a replacement hearing aid.
So Why cash up front?
Why do hearing aids fall off and why are they not fit for purpose?
Why is cash not accepted during appointments its legal tender?
On the internet these hearing aids are under £40, Why do you charge £110?
I await your reply Joe Rattigan
