"Terrible"

About: Pemberley Surgery

I had a very bad skin infection. I got prescribed some cream after try some over the counter cream which didnt work. The prescribed cream did work. when putting in a repeat prescription it took a week! i rang up and said the infection has got worst and that i cant wait and longer for the cream. since i haven't had the cream it was getting worse. The lady said the doctor would do the prescription tonight and would be sent to you chemist overnight electronically, when to the pharmacy, no presciption. rang the surgery for hours and no answer. walked to the pharmacy and said why dont you answer the phone.. she said we are busy, which they were not. i rang again right in front of her and it was still engaged! Then i asked why my prescription is not ready. she said the doctors needs to talk with you again first, but she cant give me an appointment, the doctor will ring me tomorrow. Tomorrow comes, i wake up with a missed call from the doctor. I rang back, "docotrs isent available, we will have to make an appointment for you tomorrow. i was so pissed off. Meanwhile iv had to use natural remedies which didnt work. The next day i go to the doctor, all she tells me is that she cant give me it, and that i should go to the pharmacy to buy over the counter cream. i said to her i had already tried them, and the the prescription cream was working very well.. she says the nurse wasen't supposed to prescribe you that cream she made a mistake. so now im trying to figure out how to stop this infection. I was also trying to get my hayfever tablets, prednisolone was the only thing which had ever worked for me, even then it works only slightly ( i have hayfever very bad) she says the use over the counter treatments. i said i have tried them ALL.. hence why i have to resort to prescriptive medicines. She insists i go use over the counter treatments, then says worst case come back and prescribe me something stronger. ...ITS ALREADY WORSE CASE... Woman on reception is also stubborn and most unhelpful when it came to getting an appointment. To the point when she would actually try to be a inconvenience, but i wont go too much into that. Summary... terrible service, they dont care how many days they keep you waiting no matter how bad your problem is, and they dont take into consideration your history and what YOU would like to do about your treatment and what you KNOW works for you. Avoid this surgery.

Thank you for your feedback. With the launch of the NHS Self Care initiative there are now many items of medication that the Doctors cannot prescribe which can be bought over the counter. Unfortunately it sounds as if this was the case with the medication you had requested. Please accept our apologies for the confusion over this.

Please note that our telephones are answered on the upper floors of the building and not by the receptionist in the reception area. This would be the reason that it 'appeared' that she was not answering the telephone. If a message is left for a Doctor to telephone a patient they will usually try twice, and will make a note as to the time of day when they tried.

The reception team do try their best to help patients but are only able to offer what is available to them in terms of appointments. However I am sorry that you felt that this was not the case in this instance.
