"Very poor diabetes experience"

About: NHS Croydon CCG

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Diabetic group meeting at Selsdon Park Medical Practice. It was so wrong on so many levels.

1. The meeting I understand started at 10am and was due to finish at 3pm

2. There were no refreshments offered, no water, tea or coffee ( they were diabetic people who I imagine would have been invited to improve their lifestyle and eating and drinking habits?)

3. At "lunchtime", they were all told that if they wanted something to eat and drink, they should go to Sainsbury's. I am not suggesting necessarily that they should have been given something to eat, though that would have been civilised, but noone had told them beforehand that they need to bring lunch, nor that they would be expected to buy lunch) When they asked where they could eat, they were told to eat outside Sainsburys.

4. Result? some went home as they had had enough, some did come back in the afternoon but others left early.
