"2ww Breast clinic"

About: St James's University Hospital / Breast surgery

I visited the breast unit on 30/5/2018 for a 10 am appointment. I arrived to find a very busy clinic but well organised. All staff were very helpful and friendly and very informative from the time i arrived to the time i left.

Did not wait very long to see consultant who examined me and decided i needed a mammogram and ultrasound but may not be able to be done the same day but the lovely staff managed to add me to the wait so i didn't have to come back another day which was very appreciative. A very nice volunteer came around asking if patients would like a hot drink and biscuits free of charge which i was very grateful for. I had a mammogram and then an ultrasound which detected a cyst so this was aspirated and then i saw the consultant again who informed and explained the outcome of the tests which were thankfully benign, i was given an information leaflet and advice and was out of the hospital with all tests done with results in the same day which is absolutely fabulous. Our NHS is one of a kind.
