"Exceptional care gynaecology and theatre suite"

As a staff member of the Wishaw team I was well aware of the standard of care available hence my decision to pursue my own treatment there. However as  I walked through the doors as a patient rather than as a professional  for the first time I suddenly felt daunted by the whole prospect of relinquishing control. I should not have had that momentary anxiety however. From start to finish the staff  in the day surgery, theatre suite and recovery  went out of their way to put  me at ease, provided safe and highly professional  care and made me feel at ease.

A special thanks must go to Dr Gurram who guided me to ultimately make the best decision regarding my treatment  and of course her surgical expertise. She is a very special lady! Thanks also to Dr Minhas for stepping into assist and Dr Doody who talked me through and safely delivered my  anaesthetic.

Gwen also deserves a special mention. She showed real care and compassion when I returned to the day surgery unit post procedure and ensured I was treated with dignity and respect at all times. It was certainly different being at the receiving end of care but made me even more proud to be part of the Wishaw team.
