"Gone the extra mile"

I wanted to give praise to Joan at pre-op in Crosshouse Hospital.   Joan is a very caring and efficient nurse who is friendly and approachable.   Joan has been following up on some concerns I had regarding my mum's case in relation to her fitness for major surgery and has really helped get things moving along in terms of pre-op investigation.  

My mum had previous heart troubles and I wanted to make sure these had been properly taken into account during the pre-op assessment stage.   Joan has gone the extra mile to reassure us and look into any queries we had.   I think the special NHS staff like Joan, who do a wonderful job, don't get the praise they deserve, hence why I wanted to write this here.
