I have recently embarked upon Psycotherapy and had cause to visit St. Georges for the first time.
The receptionist was very helpful and I liked the use of a tablet to collect the usual equalities data and also to help book me in and provide some details on my mood etc no doubt to assist the therapist. That said, I trust other means are available for those unable and/or not wanting to use IT?
My main point though, is to comment on the rooms that adjoin the reception area (a friend had warned me about these). These rooms were obviously being used to conduct appointments within - confirmed on seeing people and staff entering and exiting. I felt awkward sat in reception, as I could hear EVERY word that was being said in one of these rooms - words spoken by people and staff in THEIR appointments.I was by no means earwigging, but you cannot turn your hearing off to suit - moving to another seat made no difference at all. I wouldn't like to think people outside could hear everything I might potentially be sharing during the course of my appointments - deeply personal and upsetting stuff. Thankfully I was taken upstairs for my appointment(s), but was prepared to say I did not want to go into one of the rooms by the reception area.
"You could hear people in their appointments"
