Anything else?
i was referred for an endoscopy by my GP. Last week I received a message from the endoscopy unit on my home phone asking me to come in. The message was incomprehensible. I cannot understand when the appointment is apart from that it is a Tuesday. I received the message on a Thursday evening, perhaps it was for the following Tuesday but I just can't understand it. No phone number was left for me to follow up on. No attempt was made to call my mobile phone. I have tried to ring the hospital switch board but it is always busy. It is very likely I will not attend as I don't know when the appointment is. Can I suggest you:
Speak clearly on the phone perhaps repeating the date a few times
Leave a return number
Call people's mobile phone - I did supply this number.
I will keep calling the switch board but I suspect i will miss my appointment
"garbled message asking me to attend an appointment"
