"Worrying"

About: Village Medical Centre

Firstly, they never pick up a phone-even at non peak times of the day. Despite the initial recorded blurb telling you you can get a ring back for a same day appointment, this isn't actually the case. You need to ring early in an allotted time frame, to have a chance. The most worrying thing I experienced was to try to get an emergency appointment and explaining it was due to a mental health issue that had really exacerbated in a short space of time. The receptionists refused, but didn't even give other options-NHS 111 etc. Just not interested. In a world where the biggest killer of under 40 year old men, is suicide, due to mental health, this attitude is poor.

My suggestions would be get the facts clear as to who, when and where emergency appointments are applied. Listen to emergency appointment requests and in situations where the patient may come to harm if rebuffed or waiting, give options!
