What I liked
Boothroyd Centre: Appointment on 30th August for gallbladder removal and umbilical hernia.
Arrived 7.15am, booked in a few minutes later. From the initial meeting with the staff nurse to being discharged at 7pm the same evening I cannot fault anything regarding my experience of this hospital unit. Exceptionally clean, very pleasant professional staff from the nurses, the anaesthetist explaining exactly what they would be doing (and very thorough procedures),the surgeon explaining the procedure and possible risks to post op treatment in the excellent recovery room, everything was without fault. Two days after my operations I was concerned about a dressing (me moving about too much I suspect) so I called the switchboard who arranged for the sister to return my call. I explained my concerns and it was suggested I go there for my dressing to be changed.Nothing was too much trouble ! Looking at the mixed comments on this website regarding the hospital maybe the Boothroyd Centre is somewhat different to the main hospital in it's management etc. It is a very welcoming environment, well managed and this gives confidence to the patient and there also seems to be a good teamworking ethic in all areas!
What could be improved
From my experience nothing at all!
"My experience of the Boothroyd Centre could not..."
