(as the patient),

I live in Lurgan and recently had an admission to the ETU.

Like most people in the Lurgan/Craigavon/Portadown I could never get used to that title "The Bluestone Unit" All we visualise is that industrial estate near Bleary.

What I wish to say is, the staff of the ETU are exceptional. It takes a very special type of person to work in the field of mental health and the Craigavon and Banbridge Trust should take immense pride in this unit.

At a time in which more people seem to criticise the NHS I have nothing but praise for it. A truly professional team.

Thank you very much Pegasusxy83, for your positive comments. I will ensure that your compliment is fed back to the team within Bluestone. This is my first review on care opinion and I hope that is a way that we can we can all share our experiences through.

I too live in the Craigavon area and about 25 years ago, I started my mental health nurse training in the ETU. I am now the very proud Head of Service inpatient services within the Bluestone Unit and although it is not the ETU and some people may never get used to the name, I am so glad that you had a positive experience and that we have the same parity of esteem for mental health as we do have for individuals with physical health.
